About the role#
This is a 12-week full-time internship starting May 17, 2027. You will join the accounting team in Raleigh, NC, for the summer. The program includes rotations between two accounting teams to build skills in reporting and compliance. You will work on business projects, attend professional development workshops, and participate in team-building events alongside other interns.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end close activities, SOX control testing, and reconciliations.
- Support financial reporting and compliance processes through data analysis, documentation, and research.
- Complete ad hoc projects related to GAAP, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to learn about the mortgage insurance industry.
- Gain exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising senior or graduate student pursuing an Accounting degree.
- Plans to pursue a CPA license after graduation.
- A strong foundation in accounting principles and GAAP concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and curious approach to work.
