About the role#
GBQ Partners is hiring an Accounting Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Sylvania, Ohio. You will work within our Assurance and Tax departments, gaining hands-on experience by supporting client engagements and internal projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the execution of audit, review, and assurance engagements.
- Prepare partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns.
- Draft financial statements and related documentation.
- Analyze financial and non-financial data to identify client needs.
- Update depreciation schedules and create financial projections.
- Participate in reengineering meetings and conduct research.
- Manage your workload to meet established budgets and billable hour targets.
- Collaborate with team members, address conflicts, and seek regular performance feedback.
- Represent the firm through professional participation in outside activities.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BA or BS in accounting or a related field.
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn new software, techniques, and processes quickly.
- Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and relevant tax regulations.
- Understanding of AICPA and state accountancy board rules of conduct.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce neat, accurate, and organized workpapers.
