About the role#
As a Value Creation Intern for Summer 2027, you will join the Grant Thornton | Stax Transactions team. You will support private equity investors and growth-focused companies by identifying and executing opportunities to improve business performance. This role involves working across the full deal lifecycle, including diligence, integration, carve-outs, and hold-period value creation. You will gain exposure to strategy consulting, financial analysis, and market research while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support client engagement teams with research, analysis, and the preparation of deliverables.
- Assist with operational due diligence, cost optimization, synergy assessments, and integration workstreams.
- Conduct market, industry, competitor, and company research to inform strategic recommendations.
- Help collect and organize data related to revenue growth, pricing, sales effectiveness, and go-to-market strategy.
- Perform cost baseline, spend, and headcount analyses.
- Use data visualization and AI-enabled tools to accelerate research and synthesis.
- Develop financial models, spreadsheets, charts, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Participate in team meetings and shadow client working sessions or management interviews.
- Build foundational skills in consulting frameworks, project management, and communication.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Strategy, Marketing, or Management.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Interest in strategy consulting, private equity, value creation, and M&A support.
- Strong analytical capabilities and structured problem-solving skills.
- Foundational experience with Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with data visualization and AI-enabled research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and high attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with at least three days per week in-person at a Grant Thornton office or client site.
- Compensation: $40.00 per hour.
