About the role#
This Military DoD SkillBridge internship is for service members in their final 180 days of active duty. You will gain civilian work experience while continuing to receive your military compensation and benefits. This role is based at our Pittsburgh test facility and requires on-site work. You must have approval from your unit commander to participate.
What you'll do#
- Execute borescope inspections, validate criteria, record measurements, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Perform and document inspections according to technical references, Repair Station Manuals, and company policies.
- Partner with teams in EHS, quality, engineering, planning, and materials to support operational initiatives and site-wide improvements.
- Plan and document inspection operations per Repair Station procedures.
- Adhere to technical references like Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Engine Shop Manuals.
- Accurately document work, track discrepancies, and maintain traceability in ERP systems.
- Operate shop equipment safely, including fork trucks and overhead cranes.
- Support 5S and Total Proactive Maintenance initiatives through shop and housekeeping duties.
- Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel internationally for extended training.
What you'll need#
- Active military status in your last 180 days of service.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in mechanical work and inspections.
- Specific experience with borescope inspections.
- Ability to prove status as a U.S. Person for export-controlled information access.
