About the role#
As an Engineering intern with the Critical Infrastructure Communications team, you will contribute to the development of industrial communications equipment. This role focuses on testing and automation, providing you with technical training and mentorship from experienced technologists. You will gain exposure to industrialization processes at our manufacturing plant and work on projects designed to stretch your technical skillset.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement automated test cases based on product test plans.
- Design, modify, and maintain automated product test suites using Python and Robot Framework.
- Maintain existing automation developed in LabVIEW.
- Create and configure test environments and assemble hardware configurations for testing.
- Read and interpret engineering specifications and documentation.
- Report product defects using Jira and track your daily work activities.
- Assist in the development and review of new engineering test plans.
- Perform rough time estimates for feature implementation and issue resolution.
- Report project progress and status to management.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time, accredited Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two full years of college.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA without rounding.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.
- Experience with Robot Framework or comparable automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system and basic computer networking concepts.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team.
