    About the role#

    General Motors is looking for Co-Op students to join our Manufacturing Quality Engineering teams. This role places you directly in our manufacturing plants where you will function as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, and suppliers. You will use data to drive problem solving and ensure our products meet high safety and quality standards.

    What you'll do#

    • Interact with production and engineering teams to compare part measurement results against specifications.
    • Manage the containment and resolution of non-conforming products.
    • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills.
    • Support the PTR process by running evaluations and assessing their impact on the product.
    • Assist with launch activities for new products.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
    • Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
    • Enrollment in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology.
    • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
    • Willingness to work in a plant environment, which includes standing for long periods, wearing personal protective equipment, and working in non-climate-controlled conditions.
    • Ability to lift or carry materials up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds periodically.

    • This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
    • Locations include Bay City, MI; Flint, MI; Rochester, NY; and Tonawanda, NY.
    • No immigration sponsorship is available for this role.
