About the role#
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer Intern, you will serve as a technical link between production operations, engineering, and suppliers at a General Motors manufacturing plant. This role focuses on data-driven problem solving and maintaining high standards for quality and safety. You will work on-site in a plant environment, contributing to the development and delivery of our products.
What you'll do#
- Compare part measurement results against part print specifications to ensure quality.
- Manage containment, repair, and rework activities for non-conforming products.
- Support the Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process for supplier-related issues.
- Assist with the launch activities of new products.
- Help implement and maintain adherence to all elements within the Global Manufacturing System (GMS).
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
- Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include standing for long periods, wearing protective equipment, and working in non-climate-controlled areas.
