    About the role#

    As a Manufacturing Weld Engineer Intern, you will support the Body production organization. You will propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure effectiveness. This role involves maintaining and improving process controls for body shop welding, fastening, sealing, and adhesive applications.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide welding engineering support to the Body production organization.
    • Perform plant floor troubleshooting, training, and root cause analysis.
    • Act as a technical resource for manufacturing engineers, skilled trades, and production teams.
    • Work with engineering and production teams on quality, warranty, and cost improvement activities.
    • Assist with process validation for new equipment build, installation, and start-up.
    • Apply knowledge of joining processes, including spot, mig, plasma, and laser welding, as well as sealer and adhesive applications.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
    • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
    • Willingness to work in a plant environment.
    • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
    • Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled.

    • Location: Lake Orion, Michigan.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
