About the role#
Geotab is seeking an IT Support Intern for an 8-month term starting in January 2027. You will provide technical assistance to staff, both onsite and remote, while working with level 3 teams to ensure IT standards are maintained across our offices. This is a full-time, paid position based in Waterloo, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Resolve technical tickets through the Service Desk system while meeting established service level objectives.
- Install, move, and configure workstations and mobile devices.
- Manage software installation across Windows, ChromeOS, Ubuntu, and Mac platforms.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment shipping and receiving.
- Communicate with users to troubleshoot technical problems and maintain documentation.
- Maintain office spaces, including monitors, peripherals, meeting rooms, and A/V equipment.
- Track IT asset inventory and assist in technical upgrades for computer systems.
- Administer user accounts in Google Workspace and manage identity permissions.
- Collaborate with departments to provide IT support and participate in process improvements.
- Assist in testing and implementing asset management and mobile device management (MDM) tools.
- Support security operations by patching operating systems and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Provision and issue physical access badges for office entry and site security.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a similar IT support role or technical internship is a plus.
- CompTIA A+ or ITIL certifications or relevant coursework are highly valued.

- Employment Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Compensation: $24 - $32 CAD per hour.
