About the role#
GHD is seeking an Indigenous Engineer Intern to join our team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. This paid internship provides students who identify as members of Indigenous communities the chance to gain professional experience in a consulting environment. You will work on projects related to environmental remediation and natural resources services while receiving mentorship from our multidisciplinary team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with client, contractor, and internal communications by preparing reports, presentations, and meeting records.
- Participate in project-related site visits and field work to support project understanding.
- Conduct research for ongoing projects.
- Prepare documentation such as funding applications, project progress reports, and project memorandums.
- Provide support for project administrative tasks.
- Participate in design and project team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Preference is given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations - status or non-status, Métis, and Inuit).
- Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduate) or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience.
- Preference for candidates in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Biology.
- Demonstrated interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, or the environment through work, education, or volunteer experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence.

- Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada.
- Work Modality: This position follows a hybrid model with three days a week in the office.
- Terms: This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
