About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to research projects within the Kite viral vector core. You will gain experience in a biotechnology research environment while working on projects aimed at optimizing viral vectors for cell therapy. The program includes professional development, leadership presentations, and networking activities.
What you'll do#
- Devise and plan a research project focused on utilizing and optimizing viral vectors for cell therapy.
- Conduct your research under the guidance and supervision of the vector core lead.
- Perform data analysis on your results to inform subsequent experiments.
- Present your findings in a final presentation at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor, Masters, MBA, or PhD program at an accredited US university.
- Rising sophomore, junior, or senior, or a graduate or doctoral student.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Knowledge of basic molecular and cell biology principles and techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to relocate and work on-site for the duration of the internship.
- Preferred: Masters or PhD degree path, experience with lab virology, and experience working with tissue culture cells in a biosafety cabinet.
Location & details#
- Location: Santa Monica, California.
- Duration: 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time in the fall semester following the internship.
