About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program designed to build future leadership talent. Interns work on projects with significant operating importance to the business. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles or leadership development programs upon graduation. This position is based on-site in Middleton, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Support microbiological testing activities following GMP, approved procedures, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Assist with routine testing of samples, including bioburden, microbial enumeration, environmental monitoring, or method-support studies.
- Count microbial colonies and document results accurately.
- Perform calculations for dilution factors, colony-forming units, and microbial recovery.
- Enter test data into logbooks, worksheets, or electronic systems using Good Documentation Practices.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to complete study activities on time.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or an equivalent field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- At least 1 year of previous related internship or work experience.
- Proven leadership experience in areas like athletics, student organizations, volunteer work, or community service.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and solve complex problems.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Middleton, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027, with start dates on May 24 or June 14.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid internship with an hourly rate between $18.50 and $28.75.
- Relocation: A $5,000 stipend is available for students living 50+ miles from the site.
