About the role#
This internship focuses on research within the biotech marker lab in Atlanta, Indiana. You will gain experience in corn and soybean research, including performance testing, breeding, and product development. This is a full-time, paid position running from May through August 2027. Furnished housing or a stipend is provided for the duration of the term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare seed for the upcoming planting season.
- Travel with staff to outlying locations to help plant test plots.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic notes.
- Assist with pollinating the corn breeding nursery.
- Work in molecular marker or transformation labs.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A valid driver license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work toward objectives without constant supervision.
- Previous agriculture experience is preferred.
