About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship running from May through August 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in research and production agriculture through structured learning modules. The role involves working directly at our research site, including potential travel to visit customers. Housing or a stipend is provided for the duration of the term.
What you'll do#
- Set up and plant research studies, including organizing seed and cleaning meter units.
- Flag and stake plots during the planting process.
- Collect, report, and analyze stand count data to compare various treatments and variables.
- Thin plots to meet desired population targets.
- Design and map test plots, and install signs to identify varieties and technologies.
- Support sales staff by providing agronomic assistance.
- Ride along with the PFR Location Lead to meet with customers and evaluate product performance.
- Diagnose agronomic issues and assess hybrid performance in the field.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate course work in an agriculture-related field.
- A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Chauffer license or equivalent if required.
- A farm background or general farm knowledge is helpful.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check as part of the hiring process.
