About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work within the Global Legal Business Partners department at Gilead Sciences. You will support in-house attorneys by providing substantive advice to various business units, including commercial, medical affairs, development, manufacturing, public affairs, and government affairs. This is a paid, full-time summer 2027 opportunity based in Foster City, California.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business objectives.
- Draft memos and provide recommendations based on your findings.
- Draft and review contract provisions.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance colleagues to support the execution of the healthcare compliance program.
- Participate in strategy meetings with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Build professional relationships with stakeholders across the legal organization and the business.
- Present a final poster board project at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, JD, or PhD program, with a focus in fields such as Business Administration or Political Science.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to a full-time internship for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective communication skills for working both independently and in team settings.
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
