About the role#
Gordon Food Service offers a structured internship for students currently training for their Class 1 license. You will work alongside experienced drivers who provide mentorship and guide you through daily transport operations. This is a full-time, paid position with the possibility of being hired upon completion of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Drive trucks while following all current transport regulations.
- Perform mechanical inspections of equipment.
- Verify the accuracy of all orders.
- Handle physical tasks including the manual unloading and handling of up to 700 boxes weighing between 5 and 70 lbs each.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by your supervisor.
- Provide excellent service to customers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the CFTR or CFTC program with eligibility for an internship.
- A valid Class 1 driver's license.
- A clean driving record.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to new situations.
- Motivation, autonomy, and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the regional road network is an asset.

- Schedule: Full-time with a return home every evening.
