About the role#
The Support Professional for Student Financial Services acts as the primary contact for students, parents, and the community. This role manages college cash and supports the billing and collection of tuition and fees. You will help students navigate financing options and ensure they can successfully manage their educational accounts.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to students via phone, email, and in person.
- Resolve front-line customer complaints and refer issues to appropriate staff.
- Collect payments, prepare receipts, and manage your individual cash drawer.
- Reconcile daily cash reports and deliver funds to the Head Cashier.
- Assist with the collection of past due accounts receivables.
- Help students and parents use technology for payments, refunds, and account planning.
- Review Residency Review applications and manage related communications.
- Update office phone messages and coordinate incoming and outgoing mail.
- Assist with scanning and linking documents into the ImageNow system.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of office promotional materials.
What you'll need#
- Associate's degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service role.
- Background in cashiering or accounting.
- Proficiency in a Windows environment, including MS Word and Excel.
- Exceptional math skills and a grasp of basic accounting concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with a diverse population.
- Capacity to handle pressure and frequent interruptions.
- Willingness to learn internal systems like CWIS, Gmail, Google Docs, and ImageNow.
- Punctuality and a consistent attendance record.

- Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- This is a paid position.
