About the role#
Great Plains Manufacturing is hiring for our Summer 2027 internship program. You will work on-site in Salina, KS, from mid-May to early August. This is a paid, full-time position where you will gain practical experience by performing the same duties as our full-time engineers. You will be assigned a mentor to guide your work on a specific project related to quality engineering for agricultural or construction equipment.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project under the guidance of a mentor.
- Work on quality engineering tasks related to manufacturing agricultural or construction equipment.
- Collaborate with other engineers and production floor team members.
- Perform duties similar to those of our full-time engineering staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems, or a related engineering major.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic knowledge of CAD software.
- Strong project management, organization, and planning skills.
- Ability to communicate plans effectively.
- A positive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Salina, KS.
- You must be able to work full-time on-site.
- Housing is provided for interns who live outside the Salina area.
- You must be able to provide proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and a drug screening test.
