    About the role#

    This summer internship provides hands-on experience in technical operations, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work within the Engineering Services team to support field projects and gain exposure to fiber optic network infrastructure. This role is a full-time, on-site position based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    What you'll do#

    • Support internal and external customers and interact with multiple disciplines across the organization.
    • Complete Level 1 of the 3-phase training program for Field Engineers.
    • Own a project that supports a critical business function within Engineering Services.
    • Learn to splice, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks.
    • Conduct product evaluations on Corning products.
    • Contribute to process improvement opportunities.
    • Present your final summer project to team leads.
    • Take required training classes and support field projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an ABET accredited college engineering program, with 2-3 years of the program completed.
    • Majors in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and sound mechanical intuition.
    • Effective communication skills and technical writing ability.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
    • Ability to manage tasks in an actively changing environment and prioritize multiple duties.
    • Proactive mindset with a willingness to take the lead and influence outcomes.
    • Experience or knowledge related to construction, project planning, or telecommunications is a plus.
    • Ability to work as an individual performer and as part of a team.
    • High commitment to task completion and attention to detail.

    • Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: Paid position ($1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly, based on location and year in school).
    • Note: This position does not offer immigration sponsorship.
