About the role#
Join the Environmental Technologies division as a Vision System Intern within the Measurements and Controls Group. You will help design, prototype, test, and deploy computer vision systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality. This role involves transitioning technology from development to pilot lines and manufacturing environments.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to engineering projects focused on inspection, defect detection, and measurement.
- Develop, train, and evaluate models for object detection and segmentation.
- Set up and calibrate cameras and sensors for reliable data capture.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across hardware and software systems.
- Support on-floor trials, data collection, and performance assessments.
- Document technical processes, system requirements, and test plans.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
- 0-1 years of experience in robotics or automation through labs, coursework, or projects.
- Proficiency in Python or C#.
- Understanding of image processing, linear algebra, and 2D/3D geometry.
- Hands-on experience with hardware like cameras, sensors, actuators, and embedded controllers.
- Ability to commute to the work location and participate in a 10-week program during Summer 2027.
