    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship position for Summer 2027. You will work within an engineering team to support optical fiber manufacturing and technology development. You will take ownership of specific project objectives and collaborate with various engineering and operations groups to understand how process changes impact production. This role requires on-site work in Newton, North Carolina.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and conduct experiments using the scientific method to collect data.
    • Analyze process data to identify and develop improvements for products, equipment, or processes.
    • Interface with cross-functional teams to discuss project impacts and gather input.
    • Present your findings and document your work for the team.
    • Communicate your results to personnel at various levels of the organization.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
    • Familiarity with engineering process fundamentals and scientific methodology.
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience with data or statistical analysis.
    • Knowledge of basic electronics and circuit design.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships across the organization.
    • Availability for a 10-week period between May and August 2027.
