    About the role#

    This internship focuses on supporting new extrusion processes and cable product development. You will work within the Optical Communications segment to help create infrastructure solutions for carrier and enterprise networks. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Hickory, North Carolina.

    What you'll do#

    • Join project teams to develop new products, processes, and measurement systems.
    • Design and modify equipment to improve continuous manufacturing processes.
    • Research and propose experiments, then analyze data to better understand products and processes.
    • Perform risk assessments on equipment and processes, focusing on safety, environmental impact, and customer field issues.
    • Communicate technical results through reports and presentations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering degree program.
    • A graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Availability for a 10-week period during Summer 2027.
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
