About the role#
As a member of The Simple Room Leadership Team, you will act as a mentor and role model for local youth. You will work alongside staff and volunteers to support after-school programming, outreach activities, and special events. This position offers a chance to gain hands-on experience while supporting the personal, academic, and spiritual growth of students.
What you'll do#
- Build meaningful relationships with students to foster a safe and welcoming space.
- Assist with daily programming and special ministry opportunities.
- Encourage student growth through mentorship and positive interaction.
- Develop your own skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and ministry.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Greenville University student in good academic standing.
- You should be eligible for the Greenville University Work-Study Program.
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and support for The Simple Room's mission and Statement of Faith is required.
- You should be dependable, responsible, and able to work well within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- You must be able to model Christ-like character for the youth you serve.
- Successful completion of background screening and onboarding requirements is necessary.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Greenville, Illinois.
- Work is on-site.
- You must be available to work during programming hours, which are 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- This position is paid and follows a rolling term.
