About the role#
As a Quantitative Trader Intern at Grupo Oricteropo Tropical, you will work alongside Junior and Senior Traders to learn and assist in all facets of trading. This role focuses on risk transfer and price discovery within the global financial markets. You will participate in a formal, classroom-style education program while gaining firsthand experience in a professional trading environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop expertise in relative value market fundamentals, quantitative modeling, and risk management.
- Build and maintain quantitative model tools and analytics.
- Actively learn and analyze real-time trades.
- Engage in research projects and formal internship education programs.
- Assist the trading team with daily operations and various trading tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or Economics.
- A minimum major GPA of 3.5/4 or the equivalent scale.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Completed coursework in Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Probability, and Advanced Statistics.
- A demonstrated interest in markets, finance, and trading through personal projects, competitions, or student groups.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
- The role is based on-site in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
- The program term is Summer 2027.
