About the role#
Halff is hiring an intern for the Transportation team in Houston, Texas. This internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work full-time hours, typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Perform drafting work using CAD software.
- Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and team collaboration skills.
- Self-motivation and organizational ability.
