About the role#
We are looking for a Research & Development Intern to join our team in Indianapolis. This is an on-site, full-time position that offers hands-on experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. You will apply your food science knowledge to real-world projects while working both independently and alongside our team.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of new products by focusing on flavor profiles, texture, color, shelf life, and nutritional content.
- Assist with pilot and commercial scale-up trials.
- Complete assigned analytical work and maintain accurate records.
- Keep the lab area clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Ensure food safety and quality by following GMPs and reporting any safety concerns to your supervisor.
- Manage your own projects and assist the team with additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- A BS or MS in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology, either completed or currently in progress.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to learn statistical analysis.
- Computer literacy, including competency with Microsoft Office.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks daily.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and navigating the plant and distribution center.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or off shifts if required.
