About the role#
This internship is a 12-week, full-time, paid program based on-site at our factory in Jefferson City, Missouri. It is designed as a learning experience where you will contribute to real-world projects in health, safety, and environmental management. You will work alongside our team to support company goals while gaining hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Support the ergonomic risk reduction program by identifying new ways to address hazards.
- Assist with the hearing conservation program, including conducting hearing tests and noise reduction projects.
- Evaluate existing job hazard risk assessments and create new ones for maintenance and non-production tasks.
- Perform product life-cycle analysis and waste stream mapping.
- Manage projects focused on resource reuse and recirculation.
- Help with the compressed air use reduction program and maintain the chemical inventory.
- Engage with employees on health-related activities and work on initiatives to meet carbon and biodiversity goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, HSE Management, Health Science, Health Education, or Nursing.
- Existing work authorization that permits you to work in the United States.
- Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and across different cultures.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively within a team.
