About the role#
Honkamp, P.C. is hiring an Assurance Intern for the Fall 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Dubuque, Iowa. You will work under direct supervision to gain exposure to public accounting and develop your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with, prepare, and complete tasks for audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Document your work and build an understanding of financial reporting requirements.
- Develop technical skills related to US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Statements for Accounting and Review Services.
- Participate in office initiatives like recruitment and marketing.
- Help maintain client relationships and deliver client services.
- Learn the firm's assurance software, policies, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Ability to learn how to operate basic office equipment.
- Ability to work at a computer in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a shared office environment.
