About the role#
As a Tax Intern at Honkamp, P.C., you will apply your classroom knowledge to real-world projects. You will work alongside team members to gain exposure to the public accounting industry and develop your technical and client service skills. This role is intended for those considering a long-term career in accounting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare level 3 and 4 tax returns.
- Document your work effectively.
- Learn tax processes including scan, assembly, and verification procedures.
- Develop an understanding of basic income tax returns and tax extensions.
- Assist with data entry and maintain tax-related records.
- Support administrative functions and learn various workflow and tax software.
- Act as an ambassador to your university.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in an accounting-related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Experience with or the ability to learn how to operate basic office equipment.
- Skills in time management, communication, and problem-solving.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a desk for extended periods.
