About the role#
This internship provides a front-row seat to global markets and the investment process. You will join the Cross-Asset Thematic Investing team, which focuses on equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies. The team uses fundamental research on macroeconomic and geopolitical forces to identify market themes and inform portfolio decisions. You will gain experience in global macro research and the development of tools that improve market screening and portfolio monitoring.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve tools using Python, Excel, and AI to support market research and portfolio analysis.
- Research global macro and thematic developments across asset classes.
- Evaluate exposures, risk, and performance to support portfolio management.
- Develop and automate processes to make research and monitoring workflows more efficient.
- Apply AI tools to data analysis, information synthesis, and investment decision support.
- Work with portfolio managers to monitor market developments and key investment themes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s program or in the 3rd or 4th year of an Undergraduate program in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Programming proficiency in Python, including experience with data analysis and visualization.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using AI tools for research, analysis, coding, or workflow automation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine qualitative judgment with quantitative analysis.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid position ($26.00 to $40.00 per hour).
