About the role#
Howmet Aerospace is looking for an Automation / Program Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Del Rio, Texas. You will work across our Del Rio facility and our plant in Mexico to support engineering and manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering and manufacturing teams to drive improvements in quality and delivery performance.
- Implement process control and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the Summer Internship Program, which includes lunch and learns with senior leaders, facility tours, networking, community volunteering, and social activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework.
- Active student status with proof of enrollment.
- Current US Passport to commute daily to our Mexican plant.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Previous internship, work, or research experience is a plus.
