About the role#
HWC Engineering is hiring interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position that offers hands-on experience across multiple civil engineering disciplines. You will work directly with experienced professionals to support real-world projects and develop your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Support work in areas such as Road and Bridge Design, Water Resources, Construction Inspection, Land Survey, Land Development, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and Economic Development.
- Apply your academic knowledge to solve engineering challenges.
- Contribute to the success of ongoing team projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A strong academic record with relevant coursework in areas like structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, and transportation engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach to work.
- An interest in learning and contributing to a collaborative team.
- Previous internship experience or exposure to civil engineering projects is a plus.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in New Albany, Indianapolis, or Terre Haute, Indiana.
- The term typically lasts 4 months, beginning in May 2027.
- This position does not offer relocation or housing assistance.
