About the role#
As an Instructional Design Intern, you will support the creation and development of learning materials that help our employees succeed. You will work alongside instructional designers and subject matter experts to build effective training experiences. This role offers hands-on experience in graphic development and instructional design while you help maintain our internal training systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop learning materials including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and visual content.
- Create and edit graphics and layouts to ensure brand consistency and improve the learner experience.
- Support the maintenance of content within our Learning Management System.
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning concepts to your projects.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and feedback reviews.
- Assist with quality assurance checks to ensure materials are accurate, usable, and accessible.
- Organize project files, assets, and documentation.
- Help track and update trainee files.
- Stay current on trends in graphic design and e-learning tools.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
- An interest in training, employee experience, or learning and development.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Previous coursework or project experience in multimedia development, design, or training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and solve basic problems.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to accept feedback constructively.

Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time internship available for Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- The role is based at our corporate office in West Des Moines, Iowa, with a hybrid work modality.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
