About the role#
As an IT Security Loss Prevention Intern, you will travel to various Hy-Vee stores during the summer of 2027 to perform audits. You will focus on governing controls outlined by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, which includes weekly travel and overnight stays.
What you'll do#
- Organize, document, and lead in-store PCI DSS audits for IT Security.
- Identify and report compliance issues that require investigation.
- Communicate audit expectations and plans to store leadership.
- Partner with the Hy-Vee Loss Prevention and Information Security Compliance teams.
What you'll need#
- A clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in college with a major in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related IT field is preferred.
- At least one year of experience working at a Hy-Vee retail location is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems proactively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- This role is based in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- This is an on-site, paid internship for the summer of 2027.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
