    About the role#

    As an Engineering intern with the Critical Infrastructure Communications team, you will contribute to the development of industrial communications equipment. You will receive technical training and mentorship while working on engineering projects that support the grid of the future. This position is based at our manufacturing plant in Rochester, New York, and is available for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop and implement automated test cases to meet product release objectives.
    • Create automation scripts using Python and Robot Framework for radio communications products.
    • Configure test environments using tools such as Robot Framework, LabVIEW, Test STAND, and Selenium.
    • Assist in the development and review of engineering Test Plans.
    • Assemble and maintain hardware configurations and test setups.
    • Report and track product defects using Jira.
    • Maintain existing automation developed in LabVIEW.
    • Estimate time required for tasks and report progress to project management.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a full-time, accredited bachelor or graduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
    • Completion of at least two full years of college.
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
    • Experience with Python scripting, Linux, and basic computer networking concepts.
    • Familiarity with test automation frameworks like Robot Framework, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
    • Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and time management skills.
    • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
