    About the role#

    GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy is hiring interns for Summer 2027 to support our licensing team. You will work on projects related to advanced reactor technology, fuel, and services. This role provides hands-on experience in the power generation industry while you contribute to the design of carbon-free energy solutions.

    What you'll do#

    • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from experienced engineers and technical managers.
    • Grow your technical expertise and expand your skills into new areas.
    • Take on assignments focusing on codes and standards, regulatory requirements, and systems and component design for new reactor licensing.
    • Prepare reports, databases, and presentations.
    • Solve technical problems and collaborate with internal teams and external organizations.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, science, project management, or business management.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
    • Experience with SharePoint, SmartSheet, or similar software.
    • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders.
    • Previous internship or co-op experience in the nuclear industry is a plus.
    • Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB or AutoCAD is helpful.
    • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, and a desire to advance nuclear power generation.

    • Location: Wilmington, North Carolina.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
    • Note: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Offers are contingent on the ability to obtain necessary government authorization.
