About the role#
This engineering internship offers hands-on experience in technical communication, CAD modeling, and product testing. You will work with the Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop internal tools and sales literature. At the end of the term, you will present your project outcomes to the senior leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Design and build a mechanical demonstration structure for valve performance comparison.
- Develop and specify a flow loop for internal valve testing.
- Create CAD models and engineering drawings for prototype components.
- Select appropriate materials and components for mechanical builds.
- Enhance technical sales data by creating sizing guides, simulation tools, and visual materials.
- Assemble and test prototypes while documenting performance results.
- Assist with root cause analysis and validation testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Maryland higher education institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Sophomore standing or higher by the start of the internship.
- Pursuing a major or minor in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
- Solidworks experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Linthicum, Maryland.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- You must be able to move around the office and shop floor, and occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
- Safety glasses and equipment are required when on the shop floor.
