About the role#
This 10-week internship offers a look at life as a Quant Researcher at IMC. You will work with a mentor to explore research ideas and build custom analysis tools that may be used in production. Interns who meet performance expectations may be offered a full-time Graduate Researcher position at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Partner with Quant Researchers on projects that impact our business.
- Build your research skills with guidance from a dedicated mentor.
- Learn about options theory, market making, algorithm complexity, and trades analysis through classroom instruction.
- Take part in professional development sessions.
- Attend a full schedule of events and social activities to connect with your cohort and employees.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an advanced degree, such as a PhD, in an applied technical field like Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Physics.
- You have direct experience applying deep learning or a track record of academic publications in a related domain.
- Experience with Python, C, or C++ is highly desired.
- You are a creative thinker who is driven and resilient.
- You have a passion for research and solving complex problems.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The internship is full-time and on-site, starting June 7, 2027.
- This is a paid position for Summer 2027.
- The base salary for this role is $300,000.
