About the role#
The Product Research team works at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and software engineering. We turn algorithms into practical product capabilities that help organizations use data safely. As an intern, you will join our regular workflow and contribute to real projects. You will work alongside research scientists and engineers to move ideas from a controlled research setting into practical, real-world environments.
What you'll do#
- Explore potential research and product projects before focusing on one specific project related to our team goals.
- Work with research scientists to investigate new approaches for Immuta product capabilities.
- Translate mathematical, statistical, or computational ideas into prototypes, experiments, and functional software.
- Apply research methods to problems involving data privacy, security, governance, machine learning, algorithms, or text analytics.
- Evaluate your approaches using data, experiments, measurements, and clear reasoning.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product teammates to understand how research becomes useful product work.
- Communicate your process and findings through documentation, reports, presentations, and conversations.
What you'll need#
- A strong foundation in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or another quantitative field.
- Programming experience and an interest in applying technical skills to data and research problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain your work clearly.
- Curiosity, initiative, and an interest in turning research into practical solutions.
- Experience with research, a substantial independent project, or working with a professor is a plus.
