    About the role#

    The Financial Aid Advisor joins the Office of Student Financial Services to assist prospective, new, and current students. You will report to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and ensure all aid processes follow federal and school regulations.

    What you'll do#

    • Counsel students and parents on financial aid application procedures and requirements.
    • Review forms and supporting documents for accuracy and consistency.
    • Calculate financial aid amounts and determine applicant eligibility.
    • Process education loans and follow up on missing information.
    • Maintain student files in compliance with federal and school regulations.
    • Coordinate with Admissions Office representatives to support the enrollment process.

    What you'll need#

    • Two years of experience working in a financial aid office within an educational institution.
    • A BA/BS degree is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills to provide instruction in person, via email, and over the phone.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high ethical standards.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY.
    • The role requires flexibility to work some evenings and occasional weekend shifts according to a department rotation set in advance.
    • Compensation ranges from $24.04 to $30.29 per hour, depending on experience.
