About the role#
Interfor is hiring a Forestry Intern to join our team for a 4 to 8 month term starting in May. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge in woodland operations. This role is on-site and provides exposure to the planning, harvesting, and regeneration processes that support our forest management.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience with forestry operations and sustainable management practices.
- Visit active worksites to observe how forests are planned, harvested, and regenerated.
- Use industry tools including GPS and mapping software.
- Support projects that contribute to safe and efficient operations.
- Build professional skills while learning from experienced staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary degree or diploma program related to Forestry, such as Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, Natural Resources, or Conservation.
- A basic understanding of safety rules and regulations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging weather and terrain.
- A valid driver's license.
Location & details#
- Locations: Castlegar, British Columbia and Grand Forks, British Columbia.
- Terms: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with a salary starting from $3,350 per month based on year in school, plus a temporary living allowance for those relocating.
