    About the role#

    West Fraser is hiring Forestry Summer Students for the 2027 season. You will work within our Silviculture or Planning teams to gain hands-on experience in the forest industry. Terms range from 4 months to 1 year, depending on your academic schedule. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site work.

    What you'll do#

    Depending on your team, your daily responsibilities will include:

    • Accessing sites and selecting seedlings.
    • Conducting regeneration and free-growing surveys.
    • Participating in planting supervision.
    • Implementing operational planning for road construction.
    • Ensuring all work adheres to current legislation and land use planning practices.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Forestry Degree or Forestry Technical Diploma program.
    • A valid driver's licence.
    • Basic outdoor and wilderness skills.
    • A commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe workplace.
    • Prior experience in forestry, agriculture, or industrial settings is an asset.
