About the role#
Interfor is hiring a Quality Control Intern for a full-time summer position in Timmins, Ontario. This role provides hands-on experience in the wood products industry for students looking to apply their academic knowledge to real-world manufacturing challenges. The internship is an on-site position with an anticipated start in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and operational data from various areas of the mill.
- Participate in inspections, surveys, and process reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with quality improvement projects, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Gain practical experience solving manufacturing problems while building analytical skills.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- An interest in hands-on work within an industrial setting.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with team members across different departments.

- Location: Timmins, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 8 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with a temporary living allowance for those moving to the area.
- Requirements: Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
