About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring for an 8-month Electrical Controls Engineering Co-op for the 2027 term. This position is located at the Tech Center in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. You will join the engineering team to work on projects related to robotics, control systems, and software development. This role is full-time, paid, and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support projects to improve human safety, food safety, quality, capacity expansion, and productivity.
- Develop project visions, objectives, scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
- Assist automation and design engineers with new project implementations.
- Learn how ideas move from concept to implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Work with cross-functional project teams.
- Apply creative problem solving techniques to manufacturing engineering challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Control Systems, or a related field.
- Junior or senior status is preferred.
- Minimum 2.70 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in your core concentration.
- Demonstrated programming experience through coursework, projects, or previous employment.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as C++, Java, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or PLC programming languages.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to travel to other facilities and work off-shift hours when required.

- Location: Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
- Terms available: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Skills in AutoCAD or Solidworks are a plus.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
