About the role#
The Intensive Foster Care Program provides services to help children succeed at home, in school, and within their community. As an intern, you will support this mission by working directly with youth and foster parents. You will gain experience in a team-based environment that focuses on individualized care and social justice practices.
What you'll do#
- Provide individualized services to children and families.
- Support youth and foster parents while working toward the program mission.
- Use strength-based and needs-driven approaches in your daily work.
- Collaborate with the people we serve to ensure their needs are met.
- Expand your knowledge of social justice practices in a professional setting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program or higher in mental health, social work, human services, or counseling.
- A genuine interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
