About the role#
Kairos Power is offering summer internships for students interested in salt chemistry, fuels, and materials. You will work with engineering teams to support the development of advanced nuclear energy technologies. This role provides hands-on experience in research, laboratory operations, and process engineering while you work alongside experienced scientists and engineers.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on technical projects, research, and technology development.
- Apply engineering principles in laboratory, manufacturing, and field environments.
- Assist with experimental design, data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Contribute to process design, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of new equipment and engineering solutions.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation.
- Participate in technical reviews and cross-functional team meetings.
- Prepare and present results to mentors and leadership at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
- Familiarity with technical tools such as MATLAB, Python, or AutoCAD.
- A solid understanding of basic engineering principles.
- Demonstrated technical skills gained through research, laboratory work, or personal projects.
- Ability to prioritize safety and work effectively in a collaborative team.
- Authorization to access information subject to export control restrictions under Department of Energy regulations.
