About the role#
Kairos Power is offering internship opportunities for Summer 2027 within our Mechanical Engineering teams. You will work alongside experienced engineers on technical projects that support the development of advanced nuclear energy technologies. This role is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, analysis, testing, and optimization of mechanical systems and components.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and technicians, to support project objectives.
- Conduct experiments, collect data, and perform engineering analyses to validate designs.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and engineering documentation.
- Support the fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and testing of prototypes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Demonstrated application of technical skills outside of the classroom.
- Familiarity with prototyping, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering testing equipment.
- Exposure to engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Basic proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

- Note: This position is located in a facility subject to export control restrictions. Authorization from the Department of Energy may be required to access controlled information.
