    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship based at our chemical manufacturing site in Pasadena, Texas. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience with DCS and PLC systems while supporting our process control engineering team.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn the fundamentals of DCS and PLC hardware, including controllers, I/O modules, servers, and control networks.
    • Become proficient in programming and navigating system software through self-study and training.
    • Gain an understanding of unit chemical processes, equipment, and safety interlock logic.
    • Support the team by troubleshooting daily plant equipment issues and investigating process upsets using field instruments and sensors.
    • Assist in implementing control projects, drafting MOCs, and building graphics on the DCS/PLC simulator.
    • Propose system modifications to improve plant safety, performance, and reliability.
    • Manage DCS and PLC alarms by updating surveys and coordinating fixes with unit engineers.
    • Complete an assigned project and present your findings to management at the end of the term.
    • Meet monthly with the DCS Manager to track your progress.

    • Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
