About the role#
The I & E Engineer intern supports the instrumentation and electrical facilities at Kaneka North America. This includes work with analyzers, Distributed Control Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers. You will help maintain the integrity and consistency of these systems while building a technical knowledge base for the site.
What you'll do#
- Build a technical understanding of all I&E components and systems.
- Organize and classify vendor information.
- Create training materials for I&E maintenance technicians.
- Define requirements for spare parts, tools, and facilities.
- Develop procedures for inspection, repair, and reconditioning.
- Provide input on third-party maintenance service contracts.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for maintenance and operations teams.
- Provide technical support and perform root cause failure analysis on system failures.
- Recommend corrective actions and assist on-site technicians, planners, and supervisors.
- Maintain and own I&E specifications and standards.
- Ensure standards are met during plant modifications.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of plant inspection and testing programs.
