About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Houston, Texas. You will join the ITAS Graphics Team on the IMOC III contract to support the Flight Operations Directorate. This role involves technical design work for high-level projects, requiring both digital design skills and physical fabrication tasks.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and design visual concepts for special projects, including technical illustrations for Flight Operations Directorate documentation.
- Interface with customers and staff to gather requirements and manage full-cycle production plans for print and electronic media.
- Use graphic software to create finished artwork, technical sketches, and web page design concepts.
- Handle physical production tasks such as cutting mattes, using laminators, and mounting displays in conference rooms or halls.
- Perform quality assurance checks on your work and the work of others to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain documentation, update the Graphics Request Portal, and submit weekly activity reports.
- Provide photography for Flight Operations Directorate portraits.
- Participate in staff meetings and follow all safety instructions for equipment and lab tasks.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in a related graphics, art, or media design field.
- Experience in graphic design, technical drawings, and illustrations.
- Hands-on experience with graphic products fabrication.
- Ability to handle and manipulate art objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, PowerPoint, Canvas, and MS Visio is preferred.
- Previous experience with NASA is preferred.
